What Is CPA Marketing?

First of all, CPA stands for ‘Cost Per Action’, or also ‘Cost Per Acquisition’. CPA Marketing actually works the same way as Affiliate Marketing except that it does not rely on confirmed sales. Instead, you get paid a commission when a visitor performs a certain action required by a seller.

So, if the visitors don’t need to buy a product, what then, do they need to do? Well, the actions they need to take could be as simple as:

  • Filling up a form
  • Submitting an email address
  • Signing up for a free trial
  • Or anything else the seller requires
  • (Some CPA offers do require a product purchase, depending on the seller’s campaign)

Simply put is that: In CPA Marketing, you get paid when someone clicks on your affiliate link and completes an action.

So basically, what it means that you would not have to be directly involved in the product selling process. Instead, you are simply attracting these visitors to perform some simple task (like submitting their email) and it’s the sellers’ job to convert them into customers. Although in most cases the sellers only pay for only the leads you send, some sellers might still offer you a commission when a sale actually occurs.

Finding a CPA Offer To Promote – A Crucial Step

Before throwing yourself wholeheartedly, do take the time to actually enter and check out some CPA offers yourself. Run searches in Google for words like “insurance + review” or “free gift card” to find blog sites that contain CPA ads. One thing that will strike you straight away is the many results that come up exposing “scams” connected with these CPA offers. That is why it’s crucial you check out these offers yourself, before blithely building a site around them. And why it’s a good idea only to find offers through reputable CPA networks.

CPA Networks

The first thing you have probably already realized is that there are a lot of shady companies out there, and you don’t want to ruin your reputation by sending visitors to a company that doesn’t deliver what it promises – worse, if it’s a scam! One way to protect yourself is to join a CPA network. Unfortunately, it’s hard to tell what benefits each one offers, until you’ve signed up and tried them out. A good place to start would be at:

To look for offers on OfferVault, simply type in the types of products that you’re interested to promote, for example ‘beauty’.

You will then find a list of companies in the ‘beauty’ category. When you find an offer that you like, click on the listing and read the details of the offer.

Once you find the offer that you’d want to promote, next what you have to do is apply join the network that runs the offer. As with all Affiliate/CPA networks, they would want to screen all applications to ensure that you will practice your business ethically and will be sending real leads to them. These CPA networks would most likely call you up to speak to you personally over the phone (But don’t worry about it. Just provide them all the information they require and ensure them that you are running a real business).
